This brilliant new resource for RE teachers centres on a 85 minute DVD debate that explores the big questions of religion and philosophy on the subject of evil. The three programmes on evil, suffering and death use original stories from British young people of many different faiths to explore the issues. Each programme works in a number of segments. Aimed at 14-19s, teachers will use the materials with GCSE, Standard Grade, AS/A2 and Higher classes.

Professor Russell Stannard of the Open University has written and produced the script, supported by many schools and students who have shared their own experiences and ideas on film. The classroom activities were written by Lat Blaylock.

The DVD, sponsored by the Templeton Foundation, is supported by a comprehensive pack of classroom materials and ready-to-use discussion and lesson ideas on the topics, in full colour.

How would you go about explaining the Ten Commandments, without just reciting them?

Exodus 20 tells the story of 12 young people and how they deal with the issues that the commandments cover. Spanning a whole weekend, the film interweaves the stories together to form a single narrative. However, the ten individual Commandment stories offer some topical and gritty insights into the lives of today's young people.
